Mojo Monday 106

Well here I am again with the card for this week's mojo monday sketch. This week I actually finished two cards using the sketch! Yay me!
This first card follows the Mojo Monday sketch pretty closely. I used the following items from Close to my Heart to complete this card: Animal Cookies Level 2 Paper Packet (X7112B), Its a Zoo Stamp Set (C1360), Tulip Cardstock (X5753), White Daisy Cardstock (1385), Chocolate Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (Z2108), Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad ( Z2105), Black Waxy Flax (Z1089) and Summer Craft Buttons(Z1282).

The second card is inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch but doesn't cling as tightly to the original sketch. I actually made this card to give to my cousin at his wedding this weekend. The patterned paper used on this card is from the daisy Paisley paper pad by Paper Studio (available from Hobby Lobby). This card also uses products from Close to my Heart: White Daisy Cardstock, Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, and Grey Wool Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad(Z2125). The stamp set is called Wisdom and is a retired set. The black rick rack is from an unknown source.
To see the original sketch and to play along visit MojoMonday.blogspot.com. To get more information about these projects or to order any of the Close to my Heart products used in these cards please email me or post a comment!
Remember there's only 2 days left to reserve your spot in the October Worshop! And keep an eye out on my blog for the projects that will be featured in the November workshop, I will be posting them soon.

Mojo Monday 105

I know, I know, two posts in one day, what is this world coming to? Even more amazing is the fact that I finished a card using the Mojo Monday sketch and I'm posting AND its still Monday! The lights in my office make the colors on this look a little funny but unfortunately its raining so using daylight to get the shot is a little out of the question. Everything I used for this card is Close to my Heart with the exception of the embossing I did on the pink circles. I used cardstock in sweet leaf, blush and chocolate. The printed paper and the lilac mist paper are from the Life Delights paper pack. I used chocolate ink to ink the edges of everything and to emphasize the embossing. The stamp set is from the Tickled Pink kit that was available in May as a National Scrapbooking Day promo. I think the card turned out really well and I love the circles idea. To see the original sketch and to take part in the creative fun yourself go to mojomonday.blogspot.com. Have a great week!

New Crafts

I'm sure my husband shudders everytime I enter our local craft store and everytime I sit down at my computer to surf the web. He must be certain that I am going to find a new craft that I just have to try. His fears are justified as evidenced in the subject of this post. I have recently discovered cake decorating. And not just the Wilton class make a rose out of icing type of cake decorating (although I am interested in those as well), I found out that I can use my cricut to cut decorations out of gumpaste for a cake, how cool is that?!?! So here are some pictures of my first foray into this new craft. I probably should have chosen something a little less intricate for my first try but I still think it turned out pretty good. I'm planning to try again for my mom's birthday in a couple of weeks, but I think this time I'll try something a little simpler, like some flowers.

Mojo Monday 89

Well, here it is, my take on this week's Mojo Monday sketch, and it's only Tuesday! I'm so thrilled that I was able to do this today. My kids both slept at the same time for more than five minutes! That's practically unheard of anymore! They were both asleep for about an hour and a half or so, of course I also fell asleep in the process of getting them to sleep! But even after my catnap I still got about an hour of me time, just long enough to create this card and take pictures of it for everyone to see. The card uses the Simple Blossoms and Treasure Life stamp sets from Close to my Heart, the ink colors are Tulip, Blush and Sweet Leaf. The cardstock is Tulip from CTMH, the orange is from the Bazzill Bling line and I don't remember where the brown is from. The patterned paper is from MME. And last but not least, the paper flower is from Bazzill. Check out the Mojo Monday blog here to see the sketch. Happy Creations!

Card Patterns Sketch 14

I created this card for the CardPatterns Saturday Sketch Challenge. I used the With Love stamp set from Close to my Heart. The ink colors are clover meadow, sweet leaf, watermelon, ocean and hydrangea. I changed the sketch a little to give me more height to work with. While I really like the window pane effect I didn't want them each to be a seperate element so I made one large image across the panes. You can check out the original sketch here.
